Welcome to Chad Facts!
This is a great moment, friends. What you are reading now is the first step in a potentially life changing process for our friend, your friend, Chad.
It is a well known fact that Chad does not like blogs. How do I know this? Well, Chad has said, "I hate blogs." Although he's expressed this sentiment at many times in many ways, it finally hit home in mid-October. Chad, John and I were riding home from Jinja, Uganda after our Westminster project trip when Chad mentioned how much he despised, loathed and abhored blogging. John and I recognized this attitude from earlier encounters, but this time we didn't laugh. We couldn't simply shrug off this deleterious perspective any longer. We realized that this was our time to be catalysts for change.
At first, John and I planned to post random facts about Chad on our own blogs. The idea was that this would encourage Chad to check out a couple of blogs on a weekly basis, at the very least. We didn't think it would take much to get him to breeze by every now and then...we could post about what he wore that day, what we thought about his boda boda helmet, the funny joke he told, the not-funny joke he told, anything. The idea is that Chad would know we were writing about something relevant to his life (him) and he would be motivated to check it out. The next step in the discussion involved taking undercover photos of Chad. Maybe we would catch him at work, maybe we would spot him at the market. For you weirdos out there that's all we were going to do, ok? Anyway, John and I eventually decided that posting about him on our blogs wouldn't be enough. We figure at the end of this endeavor Chad is going to be addicted. And being the benevolent suppliers we are, we thought we should provide our new junkie with his own street corner in the blog-o-sphere to hawk his thoughts. We hope you feel welcome here.
I'm going to add some quick suggestions for Chad since he may be quite bewildered in the morning when he arrives at this site:
1. The most current blog post will always be at the top of the page. We hope that you check this blog out frequently enough so that you don't have to scroll too far down the page to find the posts you haven't read.
2. At this point you can't post on Chad Facts. We hope to turn this domain over to you soon, our friend, but at this moment the web is too big and you are too new. We restrict because we care. We will discuss when we give this blog over to you at an upcoming Intern Meeting.
3. You can easily contact John and me by clicking on the word "Comments" below this entry. Another alternative would be to walk down the hallway because we work together. Whatever's easier, C-Dog (his name, not mine).
